Most passenger with early arrival requirement on international travel have been stranded at Delta Terminal 3 at JFK for more than 9 hours and at the time of this report there was still no certain departure time announced by the airline. Delta gate personnel also thretened a female passenger at 9:30 pm who said 'this delay is f**cked up' and told her that they would proceed to take her luggage off the plane.

The purpose of this blog is not to discourage people from flying Turkish Airlines, which is a fine company and generally provides fine service, but rather share constructive criticism with the airline and give them a chance to improve their services in a very competitive global industry they operate.I will be posting my entries live, on the road from my blackberry and as it happens, as I am either flying Turkish Airlines, or doing business with the company. I asked what she did for a living. She said she was a software engineer working with SOA. I did not think about my plane ride much until I arrived in San Francisco to attend the SOA World Conference & Expo this past Monday and Tuesday. The first day of the conference as I walked into the hotel, guess who I saw? My friend who I met on the Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul. What a small world, isn't it? Her company was one of the sponsors of the event.

I love JetBlue Airlines; I adore and admire its founder and chairman David Neeleman, one of the most competent CEOs in the business. I flew with David on more than one occasion. The airline has a cost-savings policy: in flight the crew prepares the plane for the next flight, and by doing this they save both time and money. On one of my flights returning from California to New York, David gave his seat to the standby passengers (he had three seats reserved in the last row for this red-eye flight) and flew in the cockpit. When we landed at JFK, he had his gloves on and was cleaning the front bathroom of the plane for the next flight.
